I charge the low end of industry standard rates across all the services I offer. This is done to limit the cost to clients but still allow me to earn a living wage.

I accept payment through PayPal or Interac eTransfer for most jobs. I will sometimes take a cheque from Toronto locals. If you require a different arrangement, please use the Contact page to get in touch with me.

I charge private clients half of the payment up front, half of the rate upon completion of the project. When working with publishers, I work to the publisher’s payment schedule (and am able to work to a publisher’s rate for contractors in most cases).

Editing, Fiction & Non-Fiction

Substantive/Developmental Editing: Assessment provided – $4/page (as manuscript usage, so a page is 250 words).

Line Editing: Assessment provided – $4/page (as manuscript usage, so a page is 250 words).

Proofreading: $2/page (as manuscript usage, so a page is 250 words).

Critical Assessment: Assessment only, no direct editing – $250. Fixed rate, regardless of manuscript length.

Editing, Academic

Thesis/Dissertation Editing: Substantive, line, bibliographic, and proofreading inclusive – $2,000. Fixed rate, regardless of manuscript length.

Non-Thesis/Dissertation Editing: Variable, depending on length and nature of project. Query using the Contact form to discuss your project and get a quote.

Copywriting

Individual assessment on a per project basis. Flat rate, calculated at a base rate of .50/word for fiction, .80/word for corporate writing. Query, using the Contact form, with detailed project information to get a quote.
